Workout

Today's official workout is pull-ups by minute. Obviously, everyone is welcome to do this, but we have an alternative...

Jacinto is a longstanding member and trainer at the Black Box Manhattan. Not only is he a great trainer and one of the best motivators i've ever met, but he's also an outstanding Crossfitter. Today is his 69th birthday and as such he has devised a special workout just for us..

Jacinto's Dirty 69

69 squats
69 push ups
69 pull ups
69 wall balls
69 KB swings
69 DL 95/65

Jacinto made a special request to have the Brooklyn crew do this. The Manhattan morning group subbed sit ups for DLs due to yesterday's WODs. We only have 1 med ball, so Jacinto suggested doing thrusters (barbell, plate, kettlebell, small fat pug dog, etc.).

The man did this workout on consecutive days, so don't make any excuses.

We'll have to make some creative subs up, due to our lack of equipment, but we'll make sure it's tough.

As for me, due to my back being a "bit dodgy" still, I might not swing the KB and I will definitely not deadlift. I think i'll sub burpees for deadlifting...

why? Because i'm a masochist that's why.

The word on the street is that CFers tend to go faster and beat previous times on Murph after being told about his sacrificial heroics. Can somebody print out a picture of Jacinto to bring in to inspire the young ones? (I realize Jacinto isn't dead, but if he keeps doing his own WOD everyday, he might not be around to see the end of the week.)

Is Brooklyn open at 2 today so i can do the Jacinto WOD? we have the equipment to do so, correct?

We're not scheduled to open. So, unless you find someone with keys who's able to open up (not likely) then we're not open..

Geeez, this was insanely difficult, the worst. But I managed to get my first muscle-up today, so who cares. Happy birthday jacinto, u bastard.


beginner workout:

30 box jumps
30 burpees
30 kettlebell swings
30 squats
30 pushups

hey guys, thanks again for a delightful ass-kicking. i'll be back on tuesday with some friends. get the bucket ready.

I also did the beginner workout listed above in about 12 minutes and change. Although Jack Bauer called for the bucket after by burpies, it wasn't needed. He was, however, amazingly inspiring. I owe you one pal. See you Tuesday, skinned knees and all.
