Completely forgot, today is DAY 80!!! of the 100 day Burpee challenge.
I'm so glad this thing is almost over. I'm all kinds of injured and I really want to stop doing burpees. I can't wait for Oct 21st that day is going be a Holiday as far as I'm concerned. I think I've heard a couple of "what im gonna do when im done" stories, from taking a month off of crossfit to just never doing a burpee ever again and something about a weird deep tissue massage from little chinese women. I am sad to see we lost a few good men and women along the way but what are you gonna do, the 100BC sucks and I don't blame you for stopping. To those few that remain steadfast in completing this god-awful challenge. I say, ...well I don't have anything cool to say since there really isn't anything that is particularly awesome about doing this challenge. There isn't any real joy or sense of elation after finishing your 80+ reps for the day. Especially when you have to do it all over again +1 the next day. So the only advice i can give is just keep doing your burpees, it will all be over soon.
Oh, wait I do have this. On the last day we plan on going out drinking. Something along the lines of 100 shots to be completed by those that finish the 100BC. Of course we expect our Crossfit peeps to be there and cheer us on. This falls on a school night but that's like 20 days away, so no excuses.
PS Who plans on completing this thing? I'm worried about what the shot-to-'burpee survivor' ratio is going to be.
In case anyone has failed to hear my whining about it, I'm still in.
I'm still doing the challenge! And after burpees are over, I'm going to celebrate by getting a freaking muscle-up.
I'm still in for what's it worth even though I take days off when it bothers my shoulder or work is too crazy.
Today I did 61.
Yesterday was thinking, wow 40 more days after this?
I will probably start a strict push up challenge after this!
"On the last day we plan on going out drinking. Something along the lines of 100 shots to be completed by those that finish the 100BC."
100 shots? You might want to bring a stomach pump.
Subbed:
8 pullups+8 pushups
4 HSPU to 2 ab mats
8 32K kettlebell swings
5 rounds+4 HSPU
Jessica,
I think it's 100 shots total, divided by the number of successful burpee-challengers, not 100 each. But what do I know, I'll just be there to watch.
"break up today's burpees" workout at home:

Ewen,
I like my way better. You meet interesting people in ER waiting rooms.
warmup:
1/4 Cindy (5 minutes)
7 rounds, just barely, chest to bar
There is no way I can keep up this pace for 20 minutes. I have no idea how the fire-breathers can do it.
WOD @ home:
HSPU
55# DB FS
Linda style (10, 9, 8, ..., 1)
13:57
There is a chance I may have skipped the 4-rep round, which is where I typically lose track of my counting when doing Linda. I (re)did that round after I stopped the clock and took a brief breather.
FS were unbroken.
HSPU were broken as follows:
5/5, 5/4, 5/3, 4/3, 3/3, 5, 4(?), 3, 1/1 (fell off the wall), 1
HSPUs were done crown/hair-to-floor (I need yoga blocks!) and hand spacing was slightly wide (at press-width, outside shoulder-width).
Nate
subbed 2 to 1 jumping muscle-ups
reduced ROM HSPU (2 abmats and 2 10lb rubber plates, roughly 10 inches)
7 rounds + 3 JMUs
Nate
4 jumping muscle ups
4 hspu on incline
8 2 pood swings
4 swings short of 12 rounds
7 rounds
Subbed:
8 pullups + 8 pushups for MU
4 - 45lb push press for HSPU
8 1 pood swings (seriously is pood a real word?)
from wikipedia:
Pood (Russian: пуд, pud), is a unit of mass equal to 40 funt (фунт, Russian pound). It is approximately 16.38 kilograms (36.11 pounds).[1] It was used in Russia, Belarus and Ukraine. Pood was first mentioned in a number of documents of the 12th century.
Together with other units of weight of the Imperial Russian weight measurement system, pood was abolished in the USSR in 1924.
Its usage is preserved in modern Russian in certain specific cases, e.g., in reference to sports weights, such as traditional Russian kettlebells, cast in multiples and fractions of 16 kg (which is pood rounded to metric units). For example, a 24-kg kettlebell is commonly referred to as "one-and-half pood kettlebell" (polutorapudovaya girya). It is also sometimes used when reporting the amounts of bulk agricultural production, such as grains or potatoes.
An old Russian proverb reads, "You never know a man until you have eaten a pood of salt with him."
