The First(!) CrossFit Brooklyn "True Hopper" Tournament for Yearlings was a surprise hit!

The participants strike a final pose at the end of the event.

Thank you to all who participated in any way - from the instructors who came up with ideas to those who just showed up to play (or to watch and played anyway.) Clearly everyone's help was needed to make this as strong of an event as it was. Chris and Nicole deserve all due credit for proudly representing CrossFit Brooklyn. Still, even with their contribution, we were a little short on "yearlings" so I would also like to thank members of the veteran crew/audience who stepped up to play: Ewen, Jeff, Juan, Torch, and Zach. Special thanks also must go to Thor who served as timekeeper/referee/idea guy AND photographer (see his pictures here) and especially Leslie who kept careful track of the scoring swamp that really kept this from turning into an "Um....*everyone* is a winner!" outcome. And finally a huge thank you goes out to CrossFit Harlem (Carlos, Daphney, Mark, Shannon, Teresa, and Syncere) - your crew did more than participate, your being there actually enabled this event to happen!

I'll post up more details about the Tournament in the days ahead.

Alligator survivors, Ewen and Mark, reflect on how they survived.

Last call for Pete's Pain t-shirts. Monday was the original deadline but because everything got so hectic yesterday, the deadline has been extended to midnight just so a proper "last call" could be issued. If you want a shirt, please say so today!

Hey Moon, Im in for a Pete's Pain T. X-large

The tournament yesterday was great... I was a little leary on how it would play out, but damn was it fun. It was an event that reminds you how great Crossfit truly is. I wish I could have participated a little more in the actual events, but I did the row, burpee, run WOD earlier and was pretty much done. So when Zack showed up, I immediately passed my number on to him. Pretty sure that was the smart move because watching the teams flip that tire down the sidewalk looked pretty awful. Anyways, can't wait for the next event.

A huge thanks to all the multitasking organizers, judges, time/scorekeepers, media crew and of course my fellow competitors for making it a fun afternoon.

The physical pain hasn't subsided yet (heavy lifting earlier on in the day probably didn't help), but I have no regrets other than our team finishing just 1 second away from Total World Domination --or at least winning the Tournament.

Great job everyone!

looked like a great time. wish i coulda made it!

I'll throw in for a Large Pete's Pain shirt. Is there a link i'm being too lazy to find?

No link required - I'm just compiling all the requests via Contact Us email or blog comments in a spreadsheet.

Apple now has Rhapsody as an app, which is a great start, but it is currently hampered by the inability to store locally on your iPod, and has a dismal 64kbps bit rate. If this changes, then it will somewhat negate this advantage for the Zune, but the 10 songs per month will still be a big plus in Zune Pass' favor.

Wow! Thank you! I always wanted to write in my site something like that. Can I take part of your post to my blog?
